The Endurance Group started out as an outsourced sales and marketing company for professional services firms, consultants, and insurance and accounting companies. 20 years ago, when Conor Sullivan’s father founded the group, the emphasis was mostly on cold calling. The Endurance Group's Goals
Sullivan’s role initially focused on providing companies with the research needed for account-based sales approaches, a process that required significant collaboration to keep everything organized. Clients would share their target companies, and The Endurance Group would dive into thorough research—analyzing news, financials, and more—to develop a tailored sales strategy. The final reports included everything from key contacts to marketing materials like email templates and LinkedIn invites. But Sullivan quickly saw the limitations of this approach, especially how quickly reports could become outdated, and realized that AI could be the key to making the process more efficient and impactful.
One of the big challenges for Sullivan and The Endurance Group was how long it took to put together in-depth static reports and sales strategies for their clients. The frustration came when, after all that work, a fresh news story could arrive and make the entire report outdated. But Sullivan had a hunch about where the solution might lie.
“I looked for a solution that would use what ChatGPT does, which is synthesizing information, but make it so that it would understand my clients and their prospects, becoming an interactive tool where they could ask questions as they arose, as opposed to creating this one-time static report.”

Sullivan began his research, trying and testing several different AI tools, before settling on CustomGPT because of its simplicity and capability.
